Dr. Sasi Kanta Dash works as Registrar, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry. He started his academic journey form BJB College Bhubaneswar. He went on to pursue his Ph.D. from the University of Hyderabad. He began his teaching career as a Lecturer with Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Public Service Selection.

Subsequently he joined UPSC service in the UT of Puducherry in 2006. In 2010, he joined the same administration as Principal through the UPSC recommendation and has held the position of Principal in Arignar Anna Govt. Arts & Science College, Bharatidasan Govt. College for Women, Puducherry and Tagore Govt. Arts and Science College. He has 27 years of experience, out of which he has served 15 years in academic administration. 

Apart from his numerous academic laurels, he stands out also for his exemplary work in various social outreach and charity activities. As an administrator he continuously accepts new challenges and responsibilities.

His distinct contributions have been recognised in the form of well-deserved awards namely one of the best administrators in Puducherry UT, Chief Minister’s certificate of appreciation for his efforts in promoting greenery in the campus and making it environment friendly. The latest feather in his cap is the Indian CSR Award for Environmental Responsibility and Initiative of the Year 2023 & been awarded Shrimati Shakuntala Shakthi National Award for Meritorious work. He has been Awarded with Green Man, Tree Man, Forest  Man of Puducherry. He has been featured in Better India, Dettol India, Covid Warrior, BBC, ANI, NDTV, Google, Reader’s Digest amongst many others.
